Professional support for deaf, deafened, hard of hearing and deafblind people

I have been fortunate to undertake a number of roles in my career, providing a wealth of experience that I can apply to my current work. My expertise in psychological services, in particular, enables me to effectively engage with clients with different degrees of hearing loss. To discuss any of my professional services, please get in touch.

About Chris Bojas

I have experience working with D/deaf clients who use British Sign Language (BSL), Sign Supported English, lip reading and spoken communication. My professional, creative and warm personality means I am able to connect with colleagues and clients to achieve required outcomes. My friendly approach, coupled with a great sense of humour, means I can break down cultural barriers to establish clear communication.

I continue to be a member of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and a member of Intermediaries for Justice.

Intermediary
experience

I am a Registered Intermediary with the Ministry of Justice (MOJ). I initially trained at The City Law School in 2011 and participated in additional MOJ Registered Intermediary training in 2018. I am proud to have supported many vulnerable witnesses and defendants through the criminal and civil justice systems. Find out more about my registered and non-registered intermediary services.

Psychological therapy experience

Having worked extensively in Social Care settings throughout my career, I began work as a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) in 2012. Since that time, I have continued to provide patient-led therapies to children and adults experiencing mild and moderate mental health problems.

Specialised
experience

I have extensive experience of relay interpreting with a range of clients. I use my native communication skills to facilitate dialogue in therapeutic, medical, education and legal settings.
I completed training as an Independent Mental Health Advocate (IMHA) in 2011 and have worked supporting patients to understand their rights in secure mental health services.
